EIBIR Winter School 2010
EIBIR Winter School on Interdisciplinary Biomedical Imaging
January 17 — 22, 2010
The main objective of the EIBIR Winter School is to support the interdisciplinary training of technical and clinical PhD students working in the broad area of biomedical imaging. In this first EIBIR Winter School on Interdisciplinary Biomedical Imaging, two key clinical disease areas will be addressed which altogether represent the two leading causes of death worldwide: cardiovascular and oncologic diseases. Each topic will be covered from the perspective of novel methods for biomedical image acquisition, analysis and interpretation as well as from the perspective of computational modeling and interventional planning, where appropriate. The themes will be explored based on the key driving clinical questions as well as from an understanding of the underlying disease mechanisms or pathophysiology. The faculty will include lecturers with a clinical, biomedical and technical background, from both academia and industry. Reading groups, poster sessions and social activities will be offered.
